Nyahora Storms to Opening 2013 10km Challlenge Win

Nedbank AGN athlete, Zimbabwe’s Rutendo Nyahora raced to a clear 12-second win in the opening of the five 2013 SPAR Grand Prix races, at the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge in Cape Town this morning, ahead of Mapaseka Makhanya and Zintle Xiniwe, with 2012 defending champ Rene Kalmer – taking her time recovering from injury, finishing in fourth place

Joubert SA’s Youngest-Ever Marathon Champ

24-year-old Cornelia Joubert says she looks up to Olympic marathon runner, Rene Kalmer, and hopes to one day emulate her. Joubert was speaking after becoming South Africa’s youngest ever marathon champion when she won the SA Marathon Championships earlier this month.

It was business as usual for Olympic silver medallist Caster Semenya at the SPAR AGN (Athletics Gauteng North) Awards in Pretoria on Saturday night, when she walked away with the Female Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award as well as the Overall Female Athlete of the Year Award.
