London 2012 Medalists Lead OPEX Squad

Volunteers Make Women’s Sport Happen

Former gsport Award winners Lunga Ntuli and Ilse Langhout talk about what it means to be recognized as a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award, and they both give some good advice about volunteerism, the lifeblood of women’s sport in South Africa.

Administrators Receive Training

The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) held a five-day training programme for sports administrators at Olympic House this week, which administrators from across the country attended the programme, concluding on Friday.

Stofile Backs Women Athletes

“All sporting federations in South Africa still treat women as ‘add-ons.’ This is more so in team sport that it is in individual sport and for this reason, most women athletes remain marginalized. The challenge would be to mobilize and consciountise women to ensure they become truly liberal.”
