CSA names SA Women’s World Cup squad

Shabnim Ismail, who missed the recent tour to the West Indies, because of work commitments, returns to the South African squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which gets underway at the end of January.

Historic Tour for U18 Sevens

In a boost for junior women’s sevens rugby, the SA U18s will head off on an historic trip to Australia for their Youth Olympic Festival. Springbok women’s coach Denver Wannies takes charge of the team dominated by coastal players, while former Springbok women’s captain Nomsebenzi Tsotsobe accompanies them as team manager.

Eight matches played on day two of the CSA U19 Girls Cricket Week in Oudtshoorn, with wins for Limpopo, Border, Western Province, Eastern Province, Free State, Northerns, Easterns and South Western Districts.

Tournament Director Sandy Flanagan was impressive with performances on the opening day of the 2012 CSA U19 Girls Cricket Week, taking place in Oudtshoorn from 15-19 December.

Proteas captain Mignon du Preez is one of the current team of Proteas players that achieved national colours through the ranks of the annual CSA U19 Girls Week. This year the tournament will be hosted in Oudtshoorn from 15-19 December

CSA Provincial League Update

Eastern Province won both their matches against Boland and Western Province to go top of the West/East Cricket South Africa Women’s Provincial League. There were also wins for Northerns, KwaZulu Natal and Free State who top the central log.
