Constance Aims for More Medals

  Athletics South Africa (ASA) have announced on Wednesday that rising star Constance Mkenku (Free State), will spearhead the South African Junior Team’s medal attack at the African Junior Championships in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 09 – 12 August.  

Precious Potential for Medals

  A flight will depart from OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday 7 April, carrying very precious cargo, 49 young athletes who will be hoping to make their mark at the 5th IAAF World Youth Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic between 11 and 15 July.  

Brits’ Javelin a Medal Prospect

Athletics South Africa (ASA) today announced that, on the eve of their departure to the World Youth Championships in Ostrava, a combined team of forty-nine athletes is confident to finish in the top five on the medal table, for the first time since the inaugural World Youth Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 1991.  

Kalmer Eyes Half-Marathon Title

  Athletics South Africa (ASA) has noted with interest the supreme form that Rene Kalmer has displayed this year, and that she has not been beaten on the road since her 6th place at the Nedbank Half Marathon in Pretoria in January.

Jhb City Marathon for Comrades

Athletics South Africa has issued an urgent reminder to prospective entrants that the Closing Date for Entries to the 2007 Nedbank Johannesburg City Marathon is Thursday 26 April 2007.  The race, which will be run on Sunday 6 May, is also the final qualifier for the 2007 Comrades Marathon.
