SA Qualify for ICC Women’s World Cup 2013

South Africa secured their spot in the 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup when Sunette Loubser took five wickets for nine runs to give her side a ten-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the 18th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2011 in Bangladesh.

Fritz Nominated for ICC Awards

Shandré Fritz of South Africa’s national women’s cricket team has been nominated for two LG ICC Awards. She will be competing against her captain, Cri-Zelda Brits for the Women’s Cricketer of the Year award, while she will be the only female competing for the ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year award, a nomination she shares with Proteas Graeme Smith and JP Duminy.

Squad Gathers for WC Qualifiers

Cricket South Africa have called up an 18-woman squad to the High Performance Centre for a camp starting on Friday evening, in advance of selecting a 14-woman squad for the World Cup qualifiers in Pakistan in November.
