 The much anticipated top of the table clash at the Spar Women’s Inter-Provincial hockey tournament between defending champions Western Province and Southern Gauteng ended in a 1-1 draw at the Hartleyvale astro in Cape Town on Wednesday.

The SPAR Hockey Festival at the University of Stellenbosch Astro Complex ended with a spectacular win for the home team, triumphing 5-1 over Canada.  SPAR South Africa was thoroughly impressive on the night showing how much they have improved as a consequence of sustained international exposure.

In a hot and blustering wind, the SPAR South Africa Women’s hockey team played out an exciting 3-3 draw with Ireland.  This was South Africa’s penultimate match of the SPAR Hockey Festival being held at the University of Stellenbosch Astro Complex.

SA Hockey Shows Improved Form

The 2-0 score line reflected fairly upon the SPAR SA ladies as they ran out deserved winners on Wednesday against Ireland in the SPAR Hockey Festival at the University of Stellenbosch Hockey Complex.
