Former US tennis star Billie-Jean King is at it again, giving time to develop the sport of tennis in the Middle East, and her endorsement of the World Tennis Association has brought in vital partnerships with UNESCO, and financial backing from technology titan, Sony Ericsson.

Fighter Nabeehah Sayed made history for South Africa, when she became the first person to bring home a gold medal from the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) World Championships, which took place in Naples, Italy from 24-27 September 2008, where she represented a 66-member Springbok team, along with her coach and cousin, Irshaad Sayed.
