Gauteng North Retain SA Netball Title in Tight Final
For the second year running, Gauteng North has claimed the title of the SPAR National Netball Champions, managing to beat Free State Motheo by a narrow 37 goals to 31, at the Velodrome in Bellville, Cape Town, on Saturday, 13 August, 2011.
Fritz Nominated for ICC Awards
Shandré Fritz of South Africa’s national women’s cricket team has been nominated for two LG ICC Awards. She will be competing against her captain, Cri-Zelda Brits for the Women’s Cricketer of the Year award, while she will be the only female competing for the ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year award, a nomination she shares with Proteas Graeme Smith and JP Duminy.
Gauteng North vs Free State Motheo in SA Netball Final
After two intense semi-final matches on the fifth day of the SPAR National Netball Championships, the top teams are to meet in a repeat of last year’s final. Gauteng North and Free State Motheo will meet on court on Saturday at 11h30.
Springboks Aim for Repeat Win over USA
The Springbok women’s team will have a chance of repeating their heroics against the USA (Eagles), when they meet again on Saturday in the third-place match at the Women’s Nations Cup in Toronto, Canada.
