Sport has a huge potential to empower women and girls. In many countries, it has been recognized that sport can be used as a powerful force to amplify women’s voices, and to tear down gender barriers and discrimination. Women in sport defy the misperception that they are weak or incapable.
What Would We Do without Volunteers in Sport
To all our Volunteers in Sport, thank you for your time and dedication! The finalists in the 2016 Volunteer of the Year Award also includes Busisiwe Sijora and Faith Sibeko, but I am here supporting Zelda Hansen. Zelda has given a life-time of Volunteering for Physically Disabled and Visually Impaired Sport.
