Momentum Proteas fast bowler Shabnim Ismail is up for the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year accolade as the ICC Awards nominees list was revealed on Friday, 30 December 2022.
The nominees for each category have been decided by the Awards Panel, which consist of cricket writers and broadcasters from across the globe.
Ismail has been outstanding on the pitch this year, which saw her take four wickets against West Indies, who were on tour in South Africa in February.
She showed up again for the Proteas when she took a three wicket haul against New Zealand at the 2022 ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup, which assisted the team to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
The 34-year-old then collected a 5-wicket haul during an away series against Ireland in Dublin.
