The Ghana Football Association have welcomed former Swiss International Nora Häuptle as head coach of the senior women’s football team, as announced on Thursday, 5 January 2023.
Häuptle has experience as coach and player and also holds a UEFA Pro license certificate. She has previously worked as an instructor for the Swiss Football Association and also played for the BSC Young Boys, FFC Zuchwill 05, FC Twente Enschede, FC Thun and the national team between 1996 and 2010.
From 2009 and 2012 the 39-year-old coached at FC Thun and later worked as a strength and conditioning coach for tennis player Romina Operandie. Häuptle also worked with the Israeli Football Association as head coach and women’s director for the national team as well as a German Women’s Bundesliga Club SC Sand 1946.
Häuptle will be assisted by Joyce Boatry, who is a former coach of the U15 national team and currently coaches the Kumasi Girls Senior High School.
Also joining them as an assistant is Aboagye Dacosta a former Asante Kotoko player and head coach of the Women’s Premier League Club Ashtown Ladies in Kumasi.
