African Stars Shine at Diamond League Action in Rabat

The continent’s stars shone at the Diamond League series second meet of the season in Rabat, Morocco on Sunday, 28 May 2023.

Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay delivered one of the performances of the night as the 5000m World Champion took top honours in the 1500m category.

Tsegay built up a huge lead to finish in a new meeting record of 3:54.03.

In the 800m event, Kenya’s Commonwealth Games champion Mary Moraa opened a significant gap over the final 150m to win in a time of 1:58.72.
