South African trampoline gymnast, Bianca Zoonekynd, recently took part in the 3rd Annual Kalon Ludvigson Invitational in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she won gold and silver in the Female Senior Double Mini Trampoline and Senior Tumbling category respectively.
The competition was her first international for the 2013 season, with this competition one of the first Trampoline competitions starting the new Olympic cycle. The Salt Lake City Competition featured gymnasts from America and around the world in Trampoline, Tumbling, Synchronised Trampoline and Double Mini-tramp.
The competition was a good preparatory event in terms of gaining consistency and building up confidence for the year ahead, as a major highlight for Zoonekynd this year will be her competing at the Cali World Games in July 2013.
The double World Champion silver medallist (2010 and 2011) in Double Mini Trampoline, has her eyes set on these games, with lots of training and competition preparation ahead.
Her efforts to achieve peak performance in time for World Games has been aided by the Eastern Cape Department of Sport and Recreation, who recently saw to Zoonekynd’s plight for a new double mini trampoline, due to wear and tear of the old one.
