Kicking off at the picturesque Houw Hoek Inn on Friday, 11 March 2016, South Africa’s most exciting three day stage trail run the Cell AfricanX Trailrun presented by ASICS has attracted the attention of a star studded field of trail runners including the likes of Chantel Nienaber and Katya Soggot and Landie Greyling running with Megan Mackenzie.
According to Megan Mackenzie the AfricanX Trailrun has the best vibe. “Landie and I love AfricanX because it is fun, but also competitive. Our team strength is by far our friendship and support of each other. On the trail side, however, our technical running and climbing ability will also be our strength. The toughest part of the AfricanX is leaving the race village and your partner after Stage Three. The post-race blues are the pits.”
“I can’t wait to run with Katya Soggot again,” says 2014 women’s team champion Chantel Nienaber. “We have a great team dynamic. We draw from each other’s strengths and most importantly always try to have fun out on route. AfricanX is one of the most professionally hosted events. One of the highlights is watching the photograph slide show and video highlights that are played during dinner after each stage.”
