City Lads produced surprising, yet impressive results when then they held current log leaders TUT FC to a 1-all draw at Westbourne on Wednesday, 17 August 2022.
UWC also put an end to Bloemfontein Celtic’s winning ways when they defeated the now Durban-based team 2-0 in Hammarsdale, meanwhile UJ FC continued with their winning streak beating Vasco da Gama 4-0 at Parow Park stadium.
Elsewhere, Coal City Wizards played a great game winning 3-0 over Tsunami Queens at Puma stadium in Witbank, while First Touch lost 2-0 to Richmond United at Noorderlikes Sports Field.
Last game of the day saw JVW FC secure maximum points at home with a 3-1 victory after Ma Indies Ladies.
After a few games being absent from the league, defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies came back with a bang with a 7-1 over Golden Ladies in Montshioa turf on Thursday, 18 August 2022.
Sundowns head coach, Jerry Tshabalala, happy with the results said they need to keep on grinding for results as fixtures are coming thick and fast but happy that they got a game like that one against Golden Ladies to redeem themselves, while Golden Ladies coach, Dilly Nzeku said he’s happy with his girls as they showed character and they will continue to soldier on and fight for their place in the league.
