American boxer Claressa Shields has continued to smash barriers as she becomes the first boxer, male or female to be crowned undisputed champion three times after a thrilling match between her and Savannah Marshall at O2 Arena on Sunday, 16 October 2022.

Shields has held various world championships in three weight classes, including the undisputed female light middleweight title since March 2021 and the undisputed female middleweight title from 2019 to 2020.

The 27-year-old is ranked as the world’s best active female middleweight by BoxRec as of July 2022 and currently holds the record for becoming a two and three-weight world champion in the least professional fights.

Representing USA, she has won gold medals in the middleweight category at the London Olympic Games in 2012, and in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
