Côte d’Ivoire has been announced as the host nation for the third edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, according to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football.
Following Egypt’s hosting in 2021 and Morocco’s in the previous year, Côte d’Ivoire will now have the privilege of organizing this prestigious inter-club competition for women.
While the tournament dates are yet to be revealed, it will feature eight teams competing in the familiar format. The teams will be divided into two groups, and the top two from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
In addition to the host country’s champion, seven more teams will qualify for the tournament through zonal qualifiers, which will be held in due course. This will add further excitement as teams vie for a place in the ultimate stage of African women’s club football.
The defending champions, AS Far from Morocco, will strive to maintain their title after emerging victorious on their home ground, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the previous edition.

Notable awards from the past tournaments include the recognition of Evelyn Badu from Ghana as the best player in 2021 and Fatima Tagnaout from Morocco in 2022.
The best goalkeeper titles were awarded to Andile Dlamini from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2021 and Khadija Er-Rmichi from AS Far in 2022.
In terms of top scorers, Evelyn Badu from Ghana led in 2021 with five goals, while Ibtissam Jraidi from Morocco claimed the honour in 2022 with six goals.
