South African judoka, Donne Breytenbach, claimed her second consecutive gold at the Dakar Judo African Open, a week after her successive victory at the Yaoundé African Open.
The 19-year-old once again claimed top honours in the women’s -57 kg category after dominating Oumy Ndeye Kamara of Senegal.
Breytenbach expressed her delight with her winning performances.
“Winning gold medals isn’t essential to me, what is more, important to me is clear what mistakes I made in the competition. I am very excited about my performance in Yaoundé and Dakar. My final in Cameroon and Dakar was against the same girl, and I am happy that I was able to better my performance and this indicates that I am doing the right things,” she told gsport
Meanwhile, Kenyan Perister Bosire Sunday, won her country’s first-ever gold medal at an international judo tournament. The 29-year-old outclassed Monic Guilavogui of Guinea to claim a gold medal in the women’s +78 kg category.
