Ladies that were unable to enter the Totalsports Ladies Race due to their busy schedules will be happy to hear that they still have time to be part of the biggest women’s event on National Women’s Day.
Organisers of the 2009 Totalsports Ladies Race have announced that late entries will be taken between 09h00 and 17h00 on Saturday, 08 August 2009 at Coetzenburg Stadium, Stellenbosch.
The Totalsports Ladies Race will start in Plein Street, Stellenbosch at 08h30 on Sunday, 09 August 2009. Walkers, joggers and runners of all ages are invited to take part in both the 5km and 10km routes through the scenic town of Stellenbosch in honour of women countrywide. Moms with prams are more than welcome.
Husbands, friends and family are also encouraged to join in the fun and show their support on the day. Medals will be awarded to all finishers and proceeds raised will go to the JAG Foundation. Heart 104.9FM’s much-loved Weekend Breakfast Show DJ Sam Roy will be broadcasting live from the Totalsports Ladies Race between 06h00 and 10h00.
Fellow Heart 104.9FM DJs – Lee Downs from the weekday “Bokomo Hearty Breakfast Show” and Marguerita Freeks from the “Soulful Sundays” slot – will also be seen in action on the day as the race MCs. Spectators can also look forward to a sizzling hot performance by 2009 South African Idol Sasha-Lee against the backdrop of the beautiful Stellenbosch mountains.
This year participants will be able to stock up on energy before the race at the Bokomo Breakfast Zone, which opens 07h00. The Breakfast Zone is open to all athletes and those visiting the zone are sure to have an unfair advantage!
With awesome prizes up for grabs including a two night stay for two at the magnificent Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, the Totalsports Ladies Race is one event not to be missed.
