The 2026 gsport Awards race enters its most thrilling phase when Cloaked Voting takes effect in the gsport Voting Hall, beginning at gsport.co.za/voting on Monday, 6 July 2026.
After Cloaked Voting commences, no voting totals will be visible in the Voting Hall for the remainder of the public voting window. Supporters will still cast their votes exactly as before, but the running results will be hidden from view, ensuring that no outcome is known in advance of the winners being revealed on stage at the #gsport21 ceremony in August.
Cloaked Voting is a proud gsport Awards tradition, introduced to protect the suspense of the big reveal and to keep every category race alive to the final whistle. Until now, Finalists and their supporters have been able to track their standing in real time. From Monday, the scoreboard goes dark, and belief takes over.
For Finalists, the message is simple: keep campaigning. A visible lead means nothing once the cloak comes down, and a quiet surge in the final days has turned many a race before. Rally your family, your teammates, your club, your community and your colleagues, and ask them to vote every day until voting closes.
