Central Gauteng closed their leaderboard position on day 4 of the Kaplan Inter-Provincial Championship in East London to a slim two points after beating Eastern Province 19-5, with match wins courtesy Emma Beddoes, Diana Argyle, Adel Wier and Catherine Blake giving the Gauteng team a chance at national honours in the leaders fixture on Friday.
Western Province arguably had the tougher assignment on Thursday, with Tenille van der Merwe, Milnay Louw and Sacha West recording wins to give them a 16-6 win over a talented Northerns outfit, and marginal favourites status ahead of the big Friday finale.
