Republic of Ireland made history, qualifying for their first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance after a 1-0 victory over Scotland in Glasgow on Tuesday, 11 October 2022.
Amber Barrett guided the Girls in Green by scoring the one and only important goal, which helped the team progress to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup under the tutelage of former Banyana Banyana head coach, Vera Pauw.

In November 2021, the team recorded their biggest win over Georgia, thumping them 11–0 in the qualifying round.
And, after beating Finland 1–0 later in the qualifying campaign, Ireland made another ground-breaking milestone as the team progressed to the playoffs for the first time in history.
