Going into the second last day of the event lying 5th overall with five races to go, Isigungu skipper Dominique Provoyeur relates how the penultimate day of the 2008 Rolex Miami OCR progressed:
Three races in very light and tricky conditions, the South Africans failed to get the bigger picture today and to see what the day was shaping out to be… left was strong.
In all 3 races we couldn’t get out that way and paid the price with 3 not-so-good results. We weren’t the only ones that struggled, but still this is know excuse.
We should have been more definite in our course management, but once you are mid-fleet its so hard to get clear air and out of the messy water, especially around the marks and in the cone.
We have dropped to 14th overall in the standings, but with 2 races to go we could still make the medal race as we are only 7 points behind. So, we will give it a good hit out tomorrow and may the best team win!
