Top seed Kaitlyn Ramduth defeats fifth seed Hanmaré Aslin to win the U18 Growthpoint Junior National Championships title.

Ramduth secured a 7-6(2), 6-4 win in the final match.

The tournament that showcased the best of South Africa’s rising young stars, came to a conclusion after six days of action, in the Free State capital of Mangaung.

KwaZulu-Natal’s Ramduth claimed her second title in two weeks, after a two hours and twenty-eight minute battle.

Reflecting on her victory, Ramduth said: “This is a really big achievement. I’ve never done something like this before. It was the goal, it has always been the goal, and I’m really happy that the hard work is paying off because I’ve been working hard and I’m glad to see it.”

In the U16 category, Donna le Roux took top honours, while Jahnie van Zyl won the the U14 title and Lily Haley took home the U12 crown.
