In the women’s singles quarter-finals, South Africa’s wheelchair tennis sensation, Kgothatso Montjane, faced a formidable opponent in Japanese world No. 4 Momoko Ohtani on Thursday, 7 September 2023.
The match proved to be a challenging battle, as Montjane fought hard to stay in contention. However, Ohtani’s strong performance led to a 6-2, 6-4 victory, bringing an end to Montjane’s singles campaign at the US Open.
