The World No.5 came from a set down to win the match 6-7(12), 6-4, 6-1 and reach the quarterfinal round.
In 2019 Montjane made history when she went on to play in the Grand Slam women’s doubles final.

She will next face another Japanese international, second seed Yui Kamiji in the quarterfinals.
