South Africa’s off-road endurance racer Kirsten Landman has flown the country’s flag high, as she completed the 2023 Dakar Rally race.
Landman completed 14 stages to cross the finish line, in what she says was the toughest race of her life.
“Yes yes yes yes!!! WE DID IT!
“The toughest race of my life and I finished with a clean slate, not one penalty!
This one is for you Mom,” Landman shared on her Facebook page.
“Thank you for keeping me safe and giving me the strength to be the woman I am today.
“Bryne Kietzmann & ASP Rope Access thank you for the support and to everyone in South Africa and all over the world your support pulled me through the tough times, which was all day every day.”
In 2020, Landman became the first African woman to finish the world’s toughest off-road race on a bike.
