Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continue their dominance of the local league after being crowned the Hollywoodbets Super League Champions for the third consecutive season. This after defeating Richmond United 4-2 at the Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium on Saturday, 26 November 2022.
This victory will avenge Banyana Ba Style’s loss in the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League to ASFAR Club of Morocco.

The Pretoria side came from behind as they were trailing 2-1 at the halftime mark. The four goals came from Salome Kekana, Lelona Daweti, Melinda Kgadiete and Hlogi Mashego. While Nthabiseng Majiya and Thandeka Ncabe pulled two back for the hosts.
Following a highly competitive game, Sundowns Ladies sensation Lelona Daweti was awarded the Player of the Match award.
Coach Jerry Tshabalala and his charges came into this encounter with the silverware already in their bag, having secured the title with 4 games to spare.
Congratulations are also due to JVW FC skipper Nompumelelo Nyandeni who is the Top Goal Scorer with 30 goals this season. The Blue Diamonds also bid a farewell to Nicole Irwin who is hanging her boots following a stellar career.
Sadly, Golden Ladies and Tsunami Queens will be going back to the Sasol League after being relegated from the Hollywoodbets Super League having finished in 15th and 16th place, respectively.
