Log leaders Maties are currently the only unbeaten team in the 2022 Varsity Netball competition, after a hard-fought 56-51 win over NWU on Monday, 26 September 2022.

For the second year in a row, the Maroon Machines overcame the Eagles, handing them their first defeat of the season.

Defending Champions Kovsies earned a bonus point 58-48 victory over Tuks, to keep their hopes of a spot in the semi-final alive.
Coach Jenny van Dyk was visibly frustrated with her charges only managing five goals in the last 15 minutes of the match, against a stubborn Kovsies defence.
In a bottom of the table clash, Madibaz secured their first-ever victory in Varsity Netball against UWC, winning 53-38.
UWC played catch-up for majority of the match and in the end their efforts were not enough, as they suffered their fourth loss of the competition.

UJ took the bragging rights in the Gauteng derby, winning 77-32 against TUT.
The defeat was TUT’s fifth consecutive loss at this year’s competition.
An emphatic victory for the UJ orange army who rumble over TUT and collect a bonus point to stay in the top 4 on the log.
