Women in Motorsport (WIM), a panel of Motorsport South Africa, will be providing lots of motorsport action all over
In Gauteng activities will be centred around the Zwartkops race track to the west of Pretoria where motorsport fans will be able to get involved in a variety of different motorsport formulas on Monday, (9 August) which is a public holiday. On the race track women will have the opportunity to go for a “hot lap” with some of the racing ladies in their race cars. This will be an experience of a lifetime as these ladies can drive!
Women will also have the chance to go for a spin with instructors around the race track in cars from vehicle manufacturers like Subaru, Lotus, Renault and
But wait, there is much more – women will be able to take their motorcycles on the track while the Ladies of Harley will show their Harley Davidson motorcycles off to the public. One show that can not be missed is the daring trial bike demonstration show by well-known Supermoto and enduro racer, Brian Capper that will take place during the lunch hour. In addition, there will be an Xtreme Enduro offroad motorcycle race between top national riders over a course designed by Gary Franks of Enduro World.
Women can try their hand at karts, supermoto bikes, MiniMoto pocket bikes and Big Boy scooters on the karting circuit while the brave ones can try the trial bikes under the watchful eyes of experts. There will be skidpan sessions with instructors and cars from Renault Centurion as well as Drifting demonstrations by XS Promotions. All fuel for the day will be generously supplied by Sunoco Race Fuels. Other activities include a Playstation gaming section; lots of exciting prizes and activities for the whole family.
