Cape Town’s Natasha Petersen flew the South African flag high at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as she featured as the Venue Logistics Manager at the iconic Lusail Stadium.
Hailing from Grassy Park, Petersen took to Facebook to share her excitement as she not only worked on the tournament but was also part of the buzzing final between Argentina and France, which saw more than 80 000 spectators in attendance.
“Never in a million years would we have dreamed that I would be working on the @fifaworldcup @fifa_qatar_football_2022 and the final match, and that @petersen_robin would be here as a spectator watching the final game between Argentina v France. This is what dreams are made of, coupled with hard work, perseverance and sacrifice!”
The mom of two jetted out to Qatar in May this year after she had successfully completed the interview process for job.
Her impressive CV includes being the Executive Producer of the Fifa Fan Fest for Fifa World Cup 2010, part of the Project Management Team for the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs), Paarl Rocks Franchise and Cricket Boland teams, Cape Town 10s Sport & Lifestyle Festival, Drift City Motorsport & Lifestyle Festival, Special Olympic Games Abu Dhabi 2019, Pan American Games, Lima, Peru 2019, FINA Swimming World Championships 2021, the Volvo Ocean Race stopovers in Cape Town and Abu Dhabi, the World Triathlon Series stopovers in Cape Town and Abu Dhabi and part of the team who produced Nelson Mandela’s Memorial Celebration at Cape Town Stadium in 2013.
