America’s Nia Ali kicked off her season in style winning the 100mH final at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, in Florida, on Saturday, 15 April 2023.

The 2019 Doha World Champion stormed to a magnificent season’s best time of 12.53s, beating World Record holder Tobi Amusan. Amusan came in second in 12.59s, while Devyne Charlton rounded up the podium in 12.64s.
The 34-year-old came into the final having led qualification with a time of 12.55s, ahead of Danielle Williams and 18-year-old Kerrica Hill.
Ali is now the first woman to defeat Amusan since the Nigerian made history at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, winning the world title and powering into a new WR of 12.12s.
