Starting at the City Hall and finishing at the Kings Park Athletics Stadium, the race will take in parts of the CBD, the new Waterfront area and Ushaka Marine World, before heading North along NMR to finally finish at the Stadium.

The Nedbank SA Half Marathon Championships is important for those athletes hoping to represent South Africa at the World Half Marathon Championships in Udine, Italy on October 14.

The final selection will only happen after the Nedbank SA 10km Championships in Stellenbosch in September, but athletes who do well in these champs, will be part of a provisional team.

The race caters not only to the elite, but forms part of the very popular and successful Nedbank Matha Series that consists of Half Marathons, Marathons and 10km races around the country.

For the more recreational runners, the route is ideal for setting fast times, which generally means Personal Best times, and wheelchair athletes are also welcome, as this flat route will make their race a spectacular affair.

Athletes can enter online, or submit entry forms to Athletics South Africa or KwaZulu Natal Athletics.

Online entries can be submitted to the Nedbank Sport website; and the address for postal entries is KZNA, PO Box 47323, Greyville 4023.

Important to note is that this a PRE-ENTRY race only; no entries will be accepted on the day of the race other than for the 5km fun run.
