De Buisson established a habit of finding the back of the net regularly in this tournament, and she duly scored her 8th goal of the week in the 55th minute of the SPAR Inter-Provincial Hockey Tournament in Ranburg this afternoon.
That was all that Province needed to grab back the crown of provincial hockey from arch-rivals, and defending champions, Southern Gauteng.
Determined play by Southern Gauteng set the scene for much of the first half, but the game’s only goal confirmed Province’s pattern of play, identified by the team’s unbeaten record in this tournament.
Eastern Province upset B-Section favourites Peninsula earlier in the day, and earned promotion to the A-Section in next year’s tournament.
Having lost to the KwaZulu Natal Raiders, North West is relegated to B-Section for the 2007 event.
