Sabine Thies Earns Gold at SA National Downhills Championship

Sabine Thies claimed her first elite title, winning the women’s category of the South African National Downhill Championship, which took place at Town Bush Trails in Pietermaritzburg.

The tightly contested race saw Thies reach the finish line in a time of 05:07.16.

Last year’s champion, Frankie du Toit grabbed second place after completing her race 4 seconds after Thies, in 05:11.71. Zandri Strydom was awarded bronze with a time of 05:15.70.

Youth stars, Jenna Byrnes and Arielle Behr, placed fourth and fifth, respectively, completing the race with times of 05:50.40 and 06:12.27.
