Flowing from a recent Technical Workshop held in Vanderbijlpark, which focused on Women Football, Youth Football and the Technical Structure, SAFA’s Women Committee met President Dr Molefi Oliphant on 14 August 2008 to discuss the implementation strategy.
Chairperson of the Women’s Committee Anastasia Tsichlas says the implementation strategy will be completed after consultation with various stakeholders, in particular the governing body of School’s Football, SASFA (South African Schools Football Association).
"There is a general mood of determination to reposition football development in the country, and we are encouraged that women football development is given as much attention, as we strive to take South African football to another level," says Tsichlas.
Tsichlas says a meeting with the provincial league clubs will be called after the Workshop, to map the Way forward in terms of the recommendations.
