Experienced ICC and SABC cricket commentator, Natalie Germanos, Metro FM and SABC Sport presenter, Lebo Motsoeli and Sports PR and Sponsorship leading lady, Lona Benya, will lead the first ever Momentum gsport Awards Media Masterclass on Sunday, 16 August.
The stellar panel, all finalists in tightly contested categories at this year’s awards, will share industry insights and other valuable information in the session hosted by #gsport15 PR Manager, Lerato Malekutu.
The Masterclass will take place on Zoom on Sunday from 16h00 – 17h30 and is open to all gsport community members, the public and aspiring media practitioners. The session will focus on the following topics:
- Understanding the TV, Radio and PR/Sponsorship landscape in South Africa and globally
- Key insights on how to craft your career in media and an understanding tools of the trade required to do the job successfully
- Expert tips on how to succeed and to rise above challenges in the respective media environments
- How to continue growing women representation in the sports media space. How do we continue building the media chapter 13 years after the first gsport Woman in Media award was introduced
- Q/A open session for any questions, advice or thoughts

Panellist Profiles:
Natalie Germanos
With over 15 years broadcast experience, Natalie Germanos, is steadily building an impressive international TV work portfolio. Last year, she was included in the ICC broadcast team for the men’s World T20 qualifiers in the UAE. She also featured in the ICC’s official commentary team for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia earlier this year.
Lebo Motsoeli
With over 10 years of experience, Lebo Motsoeli leads the South African radio space with regards to her coverage of women’s sport. Her dedicated #WomenInSportWednesday slots have uplifted women’s sport and enhanced the coverage of smaller sporting codes that usually receive little to no coverage. She also breaks big news like international moves and sponsor signings, making her the go-to radio source for women’s sport content.
Lona Benya
Lona Benya is the Co-Founder and driving force behind Mabenya Sports Consultants. She has been at the forefront, sponsoring and running the Sunflowers women’s football club, KZN Netball association, and KZN Sports Academy.
