Jamaica’s track and field sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is no stranger to come out at the top and take first place, after she won a gold medal in the women’s 100m at the Diamond League final in Zurich on Thursday, 8 September 2022.
She claimed her fifth win in the season-ending event in a time of 10.65 in front of more than 25 000 spectators at Lerzigrund stadium.
Fraser-Pryce defeated her compatriot Shericka Jackson, who she had lost to in Brussels last week.
Jackson came second in 10.81 and Ivorian Marie-Josee Ta Lou completed the top three in a time of 10.91.
Regarded as one of the greatest in the world, Fraser-Pryce also won the gold medal in 100m back in 2012, 2013 and 2015 in the Diamond League finals.
