Spain won their first ever 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title after getting revenge on Japan in a repeat of the final of the previous edition.
In the 12th minute of the encounter, Inma Gabarro put the Spaniards into the lead. Salma Paralluelo was then the star of the match, as her brace gave the nation full control of the game.
In the second half, Japan threatened to comeback as Suzu Amano netted in the 47th minute, however their opponents managed to hold on to their early lead to walk away victorious.
Brazil finished third, while Netherlands rounded up the top four.
