SPAR Proteas goal shooter Lenize Potgieter’s 2023 Netball World Cup campaign has come to an end due to injury, as announced ahead of their Stage 2 preliminary match against Trinidad & Tobago on Monday, 31 July. 

Potgieter has had a difficult 24 months battling niggling injuries and was heavily strapped around her knees during Sunday evening’s loss to Jamaica. 

The 29-year-old will be replaced by Owethu Ngubane for the remainder of the tournament.
