Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the acquisition of Malawi international Tabitha Chawinga on a season-long loan deal, as she joins the club from Wuhan Jianghan University, on Wednesday, 20 September 2023.
In 2021, the distinguished 2023 Momentum gsport Awards’ DP World African Woman in Sport finalist embarked on a remarkable journey, transferring to Wuhan Jianghan University, where her talent and prowess soon attracted attention, leading to a loan spell with the renowned Italian club, Inter Milan.
During her time at Inter Milan, she left an indelible mark, emerging as the leading scorer in Serie A Femminile, amassing an impressive tally of 23 goals by the end of the season.
Chawinga etched her name in history as the inaugural African female footballer to secure the prestigious Golden Boot Award in Italian women’s football, marking a monumental achievement in her illustrious career.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Malawi international Tabitha Chawinga has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Wuhan Jianghan University until 30th June 2024,” PSG announced in their official club statement.
