Every second Sunday, the Caddies of South Africa take their daughters (6-12 years) to a series of assessments by Tania Fourie and Lesley Copeman, owners of the Parkview (JHB) ProShop and the SAA Champagne Golf Clinics.

Fourie and Copeman are looking for little girls who have the natural potential to become the best in Women’s Golf in South Africa.

They also teach life skills and look to creating opportunities in the golfing industry for caddies, club managers, sponsorship managers and green keepers.

Once a group of 24 have been identified, they will form the Acer Girls Golf Program.

With the support of Acer’ sponsorship, the program will provide a nurturing environment, and coaching to grow these young girls into our future golfing heroes.

The program started back in 2004 and already over 120 girls have gone through the program, with most of the girls coming from Soweto.

Coaching for the Acer Girls Golf Program is held at Parkview Golf Club in Johannesburg but the aim is to expand the program throughout SA.

Public and corporates who may be interested in contributing towards this programme should contact Lesley Copeman at The Parkview ProShop on (011) 646 0611.
