Wilson Receives Lifesaving Award

Lifesaving South Africa held its annual AGM and Lifesaving Awards Presentation on Friday at Durban Surf Lifesaving Club, where the Bravery Certificate, Surf Lifesaver of the Year and Stillwater Lifesaver of the Year Awards were presented.

Vivienne Wilson, aged 19, of Amanzimtoti Surf Lifesaving Club receiving her Bravery Letter of Commendation from Mr. John Julyan, Vice President of Lifesaving SA. 

Guest of Honour, the SASCOC’s Ms Hajeera Kajee, showed her appreciation and support of Lifesaving SA’s initiatives.

Women honoured by Lifesaving SA include Vivienne Wilson (19) of Amanzimtoti Surf Lifesaving Club, who received a Bravery Letter of Commendation from Lifesaving SA.

The Bravery Award was presented to veteran Victor Woodhead, and the Bravery Commendation went to Achmat Hassiem from False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, after his foot in a shark attack during an IRB training exercise on 13 August 2006.
