The ceremony was led by 2019 Momentum gsport Awards Woman in TV winner, Hloni Mtimkulu as Program Director as proceedings got underway.

All Sundowns and ministerial personnel were in attendance to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the team that ended the previous season with a treble, which includes the COSAFA Women’s Champions League, CAF Women’s Champions League and Hollywoodbets Super League title.
Minister Nathi Mthethwa praised the team and as well as Sasol for leading the way as they continue to back women’s football in the country.
“Women are showing us how to win in sports. A special thank you to Sasol for believing in women’s football when a few believed in that vision to establish women’s football.”
To date, the @SasolSA league has seen more than 2800 footballers playing in 144 teams across the nine provinces in South Africa.

Sport MEC Mbali Hlophe said: “Understanding the challenges faced by women in football can only prove the resilience & brilliance of the women in SA when it comes to sports.”
Also making an appearance to show his support, SAFA President Danny Jordaan praised club Chairman, Tlhopie Motsepe, for his incredible support to build the women’s team.
“Congratulations Sundowns Ladies. What you have done in the Continent, do that again! You’ve truly made us proud.
“Sundowns Chairman is doing tremendous work to support the Ladies Team,” he concluded.
