Western Province reclaimed the Freedom Cup in fine style on the final day of the O’Neill SA Junior Championships in Port Elizabeth on Sunday, when they convincingly beat defending champions KwaZulu-Natal by more than 7000 points.

WP also won the Best Team Trophy for their genuine team spirit and support of each other throughout the championships, and the Freedom Cup victory due to a concerted effort by the whole team, and secured by the eight Western Province finalists, three of whom went on to win their respective divisions.
