2007 December Style Star: Bianca Le Grange

Bianca de Grange

Bianca Le Grange – Stylish, Sassy, and Super talented… Watch her star rise as she continues to pursue her dreams with hard work, dedication, and passion! Pictures courtesy Besupreme Music.

We were first
introduced to sassy Bianca Le Grange during the Idols 2002 spectacular when she
emerged as runner-up. Since then, this natural born performer has had the
amazing opportunity of sharing the stage with superstars such as Usher, P
Diddy, Alicia Keys as well as the cream of SA artists.

This super
talented pianist, violinist, and actress, who is influenced musically by Ella
Fitzgerald, John Legend, and Lebo Mathosa, continues to wow crowds here and
abroad with her sparkling, outgoing personality, and her heartfelt approach to
music.

As a young
girl, Bianca did ballet, modern and Spanish dancing. She got her first taste of
music lying on her mother’s lap while she was playing the organ in the church. These
days, Bianca’s mother Berenice, a former teacher, works as her manager.

What we
appreciate most about Bianca is her balanced approach to life. Yes, she has
tasted success, but she is also passionate about helping out those less
fortunate than her.

She is fast
becoming one of SA’s leading role models to the youth and its interesting to
note that after completing matric, Bianca toured the country as well as Namibia and Botswana, doing salvation work for
the needy. She also wrote and staged a show, Bianca
and the Swing Sisters
at the Mardi Gras Theatre to raise funds for
the Miriam Makeba Home for Girls.

As she has
grown and changed as an artist, so has her personal style. Bianca, whose style
icons include Precious Moloi-Motsepe and Jennifer Lopez, describes her style as
comfortable and sensual. Her favourite South African designers include Gavin
Rajah and Craig Jacobs, and she enjoys shopping at the Oriental
Plaza and Sandton City.

An accomplished
corporate performer and MC, and the owner of BESUPREME MUSIC , a company
she launched back in January 2005, its clear Bianca has a hectic lifestyle, but
she still finds time to keep fit. She enjoys dancing, walking and doing
Pilates, and plans to take up golf next year. Her favourite spectator sport is
soccer, so its no surprise that herfavourite player is soccer player, Orlando
Pirates’ Teko Modise.

Bianca is a
true inspiration to the women of South Africa and we salute her perseverance
and determination as she strives to reach her many goals.

Introducing
gsport’s 2007 December Style Star, the supremely talented, Bianca Le Grange!

How have you been enjoying your life as a
multi-talented artist in South
Africa since Idols?

My career has
definitely progressed. It was not always easy and enjoyment, but it was worth
everything else that I had to endure.

What has been the key to growing your profile in South Africa
since Idols, while most contestants have struggled to make it in this
cut-throat industry?

I decided to
work hard from the start. I took nothing for granted. I always knew that there
was someone else better than me and that I had to keep at it all the time.

Tell us more about your current projects

My last album
was released in 2005. I will definitely release one next year. I have been
working on it for a while. I recently did a show with Gift Gwe, Kim August and
Melony Ecksteen, called ‘NOW and THEN". I am looking forward to doing "SNOW
WHITE" the pantomime in 2008.

Describe your involvement with Patricia Lewis’ Supersterre

It was great
working with Patricia. She is easy and fun to work with. The experience was
awesome.

How have you enjoyed taking your acts
internationally. What has been your most memorable performance?

My
performance in Culemburg, Netherlands in April 2006. I was
the opening act for Jagged Edge. I was not sure whether they would apprecia
 te
my music. The crowd loved it.

You started your own company BESUPREME MUSIC in January 2005; how has the company
progressed since its launch?

The company
has progressed tremendously. We are still small, but we have a few challenges
and opportunities for the New Year.

I walk, gym,
dance when I perform and am currently doing Pilates. I am starting ladies golf

I love all
sport, but my favourite lately is soccer

Teko Modise (Orlando Pirates)

You’re in the kind of industry where looks mean as
much as talent. How do you deal with the pressure of always needing to look
your best?

I always try
to look my best when on stage or at functions, but at home and with my family,
I wear old clothes and no make up.

How has your look changed over the years?

Yes, I have
grown more mature. I grew my hair and changed the colour as well. I gained a
lot of weight at one time, but thank God, I recently shed those kilos again.

How would you define your personal style?

yet I also want to live my life according to what I think I should be.

You’ve been passionately involved with charity since
you were a teenager. What are some of the projects you’ve worked on?

I was
recently adopted as a patron for the Helen Bishop Cripple Care in Kimberley. I just
finished my first annual fundraiser for them. It makes me feel worthy and
fulfilled. I love it.

gsport strives to celebrate femininity. How would you
define femininity and what role it plays in your life?

The answers
to your femininity lies within and until you make the effort to find out what
and who you want to be your purpose will not be fulfilled. Learn to
 enjoy it
and also share it with those around you.

Mirriam
Makeba, my mom and my late grandfather.
