At 39, the veteran is a seven-time Women’s Africa Cup of Nations participant and the first African player, woman or man, to play in five FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Onome’s one-year deal move to Spain means the experienced centre-back joins her tenth professional club in her career which spans over two decades.
