Presented by Asics, the Totalsports Ladies Race will take place on National Women’s Day, Saturday, 09 August 2008, and good news is that late entries will be accepted from Monday, 4th till Thursday, 7th August at the Rooseveldt High School (opposite the main entrance to the Emmerentia Botanical Gardens, in Johannesburg) between 14h00 – 18h30.

Starting and finishing at the Roosevelt High School in Emmerentia, participants can choose between a 5km fun walk or 10km run, the race will start at 08h00, and spectators can enjoy a breathtaking performance by former South African Idols star, Gift Gwe, with charity served in proceeds going to the Fadimehang Mental Care Centre, currently temporarily accommodated at Samuel Mangala Primary School in Dobsonville, Soweto.

Stellenbosch will also allow late entries on Thursday, 7th and Friday, 8th August, at the Coetzenburg Stadium from 10h00 till 18h00.

Starting in Plein Street and ending at the impressive Coetzenburg stadium, the new 5km and 10km routes will definitely guarantee renewed excitement, with proceeds going to The JAG Sports and Education Foundation. The race will start at 08h30, spectators can enjoy a breathtaking performance by well-known South African Idols Jody and Munro.

Entries for the 10km run/walk cost R40, while entries for the 5km run/walk cost R30. T-shirts are limited, while medals will be awarded to all finishers. The 5km and 10km routes are available to walkers, joggers, runners and moms with prams are more than welcome.

All entrants stand a chance to win a magnificent Nissan Micra and Vuka Scuta. Race numbers will be entered into the two lucky draws that will take place at the end of the race, but athletes whose race numbers are drawn have to be present to claim their prizes.
