Anja Els Wins MSSA’s Gauteng Provincial Championships

Elishia Retief was one of the most decorated wargamers in the history of Mind Sports South Africa, but now there is a new girl on block.

Anja Els has taken to wargames like a fish to water.

Playing for the Teutonic Mind Sports Club (based in Witbank) Anja was first introduced to the game of Ancients Wargames at the 2016 South African National Championships.

Being suitably inspired, Anja prepared herself to play in MSSA’s 2017 Gauteng Provincial Championships.

Not only did Anja play, but she won the female division as well as being awarded Mpumulanga Provincial Colours.

This too is  the first time that a wargamer from Witbank has ever won a major provincial wargaming title in the history of Mind sports South Africa.

There is no doubt that there are great things in store for Anja.

Anja Els has won the following championships:

2014
City of Johannesburg Regional Championships
Gauteng Provincial Championships
Gauteng Provincial School Championships
Mpumulanga Provincial Championships
South African School Championships
South African National Championships
IWF World Championships
MSSA Wargamer of the Year

2015
