A defining moment for Surfing South Africa as Anne Wright becomes the first woman to take up the Vice President role of the federation.
Wright’s appointment is the first in over 58 years in what is predominately known as a male-dominated sporting code.
She has been involved in surfing for more than 20 years and was an internationally accredited contest director where she was oversaw the Lizzard Hurricane Summer event at the Umhlanga Summer Festival in 2015.
Another highlight appointment was that of Port Elizabeth’s Petronel Posthumus, who was elected for her first term as a Board member.
